Thomas has an abiding passion for music, culture, and all the arts. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in both piano performance and music history. He completed a doctorate in music history with a dissertation on the creative process of French Baroque composer Jean-Philippe Rameau. He continues to pursue a variety of research projects in music.
Thomas’s career has provided extensive experience in the fields of both publishing and education. As a music and text editor, he has worked on a variety of projects with authors and composers, while as a university lecturer he has delivered courses in both music history and theory. As a private piano and theory teacher and as an examiner for The Royal Conservatory he develops musical talent and skill in students of all ages, abilities and cultural backgrounds.
Soon after creating Calm Sea Coaching, Thomas was named Chief Examiner at The Royal Conservatory, a post he held for thirteen years. In this role, he worked to maximize the effectiveness of a highly trained and dedicated team of practical and theoretical examiners. Many of the skills Thomas developed in that role are also applicable in coaching.
In addition to his academic and performance training, Thomas completed a 200-hour intensive teacher training program as an Integral Yoga instructor. Although he does not teach Yoga, he incorporates various aspects of Yoga into his personal and professional life.
Thomas looks forward to accompanying you on a coaching journey, and to the eventual celebration of your deepening awareness, expanding skills, and personal fulfilment.
